The library belonging to the Technical Museum in Brno collects and preserves library finds concerned with the history and present state of science and technology (relating to the fields connected to TMB), as well as literature engaging the theory of museum activities and its application, educational and linguistic dictionaries, basic socio-scientific publications and encyclopaedias. The collection includes books, magazines, photo-materials, maps, films, audio-tapes, service literature, posters, norms and CDs. There is a systematic catalogue that promotes ease of orientation within the library. Knihovna Obchodní a živnostenské komory (The Chamber of Commerce Library) forms a significant part of the TMB library. The Technical museum gained it from its forerunner- Archivu pro dějiny průmyslu, obchodu a technické práce (The Industrial Archive). The library makes its funds accessible to everyone in the study hall and by means of inter-librarian borrowing.
