The Technical Game Room- Experimentarium
In the Technical Game Room there are many interactive workrooms where pupils and students may test the principles and patterns of mechanics, electro-technics, optics, acoustics etc. The space is complemented by a number of images, stereo-grams and other matters of interest.
Historical stereovision
The luminary panorama (stereovision) is a slide viewing device that can be used by as many as 25 viewers at once. It creates a notion of three-dimensional images through the use of optical principles and laws. Luminary panorama was a favorite attraction at the end of 19th and beginning of the 20th century. It was the forerunner of today’s biograph.
The aircraft history and plastic modellin
The exposition introduces aircraft history as a part of technical history and human cognition as well as in connection with an attractive and wide-spread hobby-modelling. By means of models the development of aircraft is illustrated.
From the tom-toms to the internet
The exposition welcomes the visitors with a real african signal tom-tom and provides the entire history of communication technology from the oldest means such as tom-toms through the first telephones and telegraphs to the most modern devices used for transmission of sound and video using electromagnetic waves. Steam engines
The exhibition covers engines made and operating in the Moravian region at the end of the 19th, and beginning of the 20th century, which was the period marked by expansion of powerful steam engines and first steam turbines. The exposition introduces large engines of various construction, an agricultural steam loco-mobile, one of the first Parsons‘ turbines made in Europe, parts of big engines, systems of regulation, distribution of steam and greasing, measuring instruments and functional models.
Mechanic music parlor
Mechanic music machines- automatophones, barrel organs, orchestrions, pianols and other interesting instruments were used to replay music motives, produce popular melodies in public places and in private and catch people’s attention due to their perfect handcrafted quality. It was possible to realise the idea to play music by use of an exact mechanism only after the horological
The Handicrafts Lane
The establishment of manufacture and mass-production almost caused the disappearance of the productions of small craftsmen who provided convenience goods for our forefathers such as garment, footwear, furnishing, various machines and tools.
