It was built as part of a court which was first mentioned in 1377 and reconstructed to its original state of 1700. The blacksmiths is a four-wing baroque building with a chamber and a garden. There are smith’s objects exhibited in the typical countryside interior. A blacksmith’s shop with typical smith's tools from the 19th century is the main part of the exhibition. You can see a forge with two hearths and a wide open chimney, two original leather-bags, hammer anvil and a work-bench. There are expositions of various pieces of smith’s work in the outbuildings such as gates, plows, parts of wagons and other products. A workroom of a kettlesmith is another part of the exhibition that shows the basic technologies and typical products and tools used by performers of this almost extinct occupation. Blacksmith technologies are presented by demonstration of for example, production of a wheel in its separate phases etc. The exhibition is completed with basic tools and instruments. At the end of the exposition you can visit a blacksmith’s dwelling furnished in a typical contemporary style with all the crockery and other tools. The tradition of "Babské hody" where the local blacksmiths show and introduce their craft was renewed in 1999. Fotogalerie |
